landscape of DIVERSITY - AQUATIC CENTER & PUBLIC PARK
In dense, urban context a park and an aquatic centre become a precious opportunity. Lockhart Krause Architects designed this aquatic center to interweave natural textures and rhythms within the urban fabric. It allows moving water, growing plants, native vegetation and animals to create a restorative place, a reflective enclave that is part of the city it serves and yet, the primacy it gives to life, makes it truly a place of recreation.
COMMUNITY AND EARTH - ART GALLERY, MUSEUM & PUBLIC PLAZA
The design for the ‘Spartak’ Art Gallery & Museum submerges the art gallery & museum into the earth, a place to escape and quietly enjoy Art. On the roof, a large public plaza frames views of the nearby heritage church. A place to celebrate, iceskate and gather as a community.
