Scion Offices, West Ryde – Office Fit-Out

The Scion Offices project involved the complete renovation and interior fit-out of Scion Property Development & Construction’s new headquarters in West Ryde. As a company operating at the intersection of construction, development, and project delivery, Scion required a workspace that could reinforce its identity, improve operational efficiency, and support a growing team. Lockhart Krause Architects led the project from planning through to visualisation, applying our extensive experience in commercial fit-outs to create a cohesive and purposeful workplace.

Contemporary Workplace

Located at Suite 3, Level 1, 96 Anzac Avenue, the project had an internal area of 275 m². The brief called for compact workspaces, individual meeting areas, executive offices, and staff amenities, all unified through a design that reinforces Scion’s brand values. The completed office design is functional and refined for everyday operations, while presenting a polished face to clients and partners.

Strategic Planning for Productivity and Flow

Our first stage focused on circulation: designing layouts that enhanced workflow, anticipated operational needs, and maximised usable space. Through a collaborative planning process with Scion’s leadership team, we tested multiple configurations before finalising an optimised floor plan.

The layout accommodates a large team office area with 18 workstations, three individual offices, two boardrooms, a team meeting room, and a reception and waiting area. Circulation was carefully planned to minimise bottlenecks and promote intuitive movement through the office. Storage requirements, including boardroom cabinetry and operational storage, were incorporated early to avoid clutter and maintain long-term functionality.

The planning strategy also considered future growth, ensuring that Scion’s workspace will remain adaptable as the organisation evolves.

Creating a Brand-Aligned Material and Spatial Identity

The brief required the architecture to reinforce Scion’s brand identity. We developed a refined material palette anchored by warm textures, soft tones, and a restrained selection of durable finishes. Scion's brand colours were subtly incorporated through furniture, signage, and feature elements, without resorting to overt branding.

Warm, Refined Interiors Driven by Material Quality

The interior design prioritised function and elegance. Warm timbers, muted colours, and subtle textures contrast with aluminium frames, workstation systems, and integrated joinery. In high-use areas such as the kitchen, toilets, and staff breakout zone, we used durable finishes to maintain the aesthetic long-term. Lighting was selected to enhance material qualities while ensuring consistency across open-plan and enclosed spaces. This soft palette creates a welcoming atmosphere while achieving a coherent visual experience throughout the office.

Comprehensive Design Documentation and Visualisation

Lockhart Krause Architects prepared a full suite of design documentation for construction. This included floor plans, joinery design, lighting recommendations, and a detailed materials and finishes schedule. Clear documentation ensured accuracy across procurement and construction phases, reducing risk and avoiding rework.

We also developed a fully realised 3D model with high-quality architectural renderings. These visualisations enabled Scion to clearly understand the space before construction commenced. This process strengthened collaboration throughout the project timeline.
